Matthias Sigmund graduated from the humanistic Karls-Gymnasium in Stuttgart and studied law in Tübingen. He completed his legal clerkship in the Higher Regional Court district of Stuttgart, focusing on criminal law, including positions with attorney Dr. Robert Holoch in Stuttgart and the State Criminal Police Office of Baden-Württemberg.
He has been active as a criminal defense attorney nationwide for over two decades.
He has a particular interest in juvenile criminal law and the criminally relevant effects of mental illness.
He also represents bereaved families and victims in cases of homicide and serious violent and sexual offenses.
