The law firm’s 53-year-old client was sentenced by the Oberndorf Local Court to a four-month suspended sentence after attacking, insulting and spitting at two police officers in Schramberg during an arrest in June 2024. The defendant confessed, apologised to the officers and attributed his condition to a blood alcohol level of 1.92 per mille and the use of amphetamines. The charge of criminal damage to a neighbour’s door was dropped due to lack of evidence. Likewise, the allegation of assault against his ex-girlfriend from Seedorf was discontinued due to contradictory witness statements and a lack of evidence. In addition to the suspended sentence, the client must attend three addiction counselling appointments and complete 80 hours of community service, which may be converted into a fine if he takes up employment. The defence emphasised the client’s difficult personal circumstances following his mother’s death and his efforts at rehabilitation.
