Almost five years later, three Dutch defendants are standing trial before the Bayreuth Regional Court. The investigation relies on DNA traces found on a scooter, a sports bag containing burglary tools, and suspicious mobile phone activity in the region at the time of the crime.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The defense sharply criticizes the evidence, deeming it insufficient. Although there is a video of the crime, the identification of the perpetrators is disputed. One of the defendants stated that his sports bag had been stolen long before the incident. Furthermore, the connection between the defendants and the crime is unclear, and the assignment of mobile phone numbers to roles in the crime is considered speculative. Attorney Mathias Brenner, defense lawyer for the alleged getaway driver, emphasized that circumstantial evidence does not provide a sufficient basis for a conviction, and innocent individuals may be on trial.    <\/p>\n\n<p>Numerous central questions remain unanswered: who brought the equipment to the crime scene, which vehicle served as the getaway car, and whether other individuals were involved.
